For many years we have needed to upgrade our sound system at St. Andrew’s. We have been using a sound mixing board that is 30 years old, cheap wireless microphones, etc. It worked but wasn’t the most reliable.
Enter Glen Marshall and Aunt Mickey. Glen has recently retired from the sound business, and sold to us, at a considerably discounted price, the items we were needing. Through the memorial funds, set up by Aunt Mickey designated for the music department, we were able to put together a new sound system. We have upgraded our mixing board from a 12-channel system to a 24-channel system. (Our youth praise band will be happy about that.) We have purchased a Shure 58 wireless microphone and direct box at below cost. This will allow us to plug guitars and other instruments at the front of the sanctuary directly into the sound system without having to set up a separate system. It will give our sound person the ability to fine tune the sound and volume. Glen also donated two Peavy microphone and cables at no cost to the church. He donated his time to install the sound board, check everything through the sound system, and is still fine tuning the system.
From St. Andrew’s and myself, I want to say a heartfelt thank you. St. Andrew’s will benefit for years to come from the past and present dedication and generosity of our members.
Thank you,
Larry Bay
