The Festival of Sharing is a cooperative response to world hunger, poverty, and injustice and seeks to raise awareness of its causes and to address solutions.
The Festival of Sharing is an interfaith, state-wide, celebration and gathering of resources that is held on the third Saturday in October each year. This date was chosen because it is usually the Saturday closest to World Food Day. The Festival of Sharing promotes and supports projects and programs by providing funding and resource goods. When people of faith come together, our Sharing makes a positive and powerful difference in the lives of people in need.
The 2016 Report of Giving from Festival of Sharing has been posted and is impressive. The Festival brought in $188,762 in cash gifts and $494,036 in non-cash gifts for a total of $682,798. We’re not taking a day off to celebrate though. The 2017 booklets are available online and regional gatherings are in the works. Some of the goals for this year include collecting 54,000 pounds of beans and 44,000 pounds of potatoes. To get started, please pray for our neighbors in need, and pray we can truly share hope in 2017! | www.festivalofsharing.org
