Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

The annual program to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will take place in the Holt High School Auditorium at 6:30 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018. The Annual Unity Walk will be Monday, January 15, 2018, which is Mr. King’s birthday. The Walk begins at 10 am at the old City Hall on Pearce Boulevard, and proceeds down Pearce Blvd.  This marks the 13th year that the City of Wentzville has helped host the event, and we look forward to welcoming citizens from Wentzville and neighboring cities to help us celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As part of the January 12 celebration, the MLK Committee will be awarding scholarships to high school seniors, and those attending will enjoy performances by the Holt and Timberland choirs, and have the chance to hear Rev. Dr. Anthony Witherspoon, Washington Metropolitan A.M.E Zion Church.  The Unity Walk on January 15 will feature words from Pastor Tina Harris and will serve as a symbol of community unity.

We would like to thank the community planning committee, the Wentzville School District, and the City of Wentzville for all of their help and support again this year, and we look forward to hosting a positive event that can help bring people together.
