So you think you want to volunteer on February 9th, but you aren’t sure about what paperwork you need to complete or what all is involved. This should give you all the information you need.
- First, all adult volunteers (anyone over 18) must complete a registration form. It can be completed online or a printed copy can be filled out and mailed, emailed, or hand delivered to the church. Click here to access the page that has the online version of the form. It also has a link for the printable version.
- Adult volunteers must also have a background screening. We are doing these through the Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR, part of the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services). If you want to check to see if you’re part of the Registry, click here. It requires your social security number.
- If you’re part of the Registry, YEAH! It makes your background screening much easier for the church. Call the FCSR at (866) 422-6872 and request a screening. Have them send a copy of the findings to you by email. Then, simply forward that email to the church: secretary@standrewsumcdesoto.org. (Alternately, you can provide your SSN to Melissa, and she can request a screening to be sent directly to the church. Either way is fine.)
- If you’re not part of the Registry, you’ll need to complete a Worker Registration Form (MO 580-2421). There is a fee for the state to process this form, but the church is covering that cost. For this reason, do not remit the form to the state. Instead, send it to the church. We’ll pay to get the paperwork processed and your background screening completed! Again, mail, email, or hand deliver that form to the church.
- Next, what about teenagers? Individuals ages 14-18 are certainly welcome! If you’re wanting to volunteer, we need a Permission Slip completed and signed by your parent or guardian. This form can be mailed, emailed, or hand delivered to the church. The contact information is at the bottom of the form.
We hope you plan on joining us for this amazing event. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the office with questions: 636-586-2472.
