Coming on the heels of the Big Rocks sermon series is the series entitled Identity. It is a look at the seven churches John addressed in Revelation. While I don’t believe any one of the churches mentioned by John is the perfect example of who we are, I do believe we may see ourselves in some of the churches. More importantly, because the church is really the people. this is a series where we, as individuals, can take a look inside our personal relationships with God, the church, and the culture around us. As I grow in my understanding of Revelation, I am realizing, more and more, that this book is not so much about what’s going to happen as it is about the kind of person I will be – my identity – when things do happen. If the church is the sum of the individual identities of its members and constituents, it only stands to reason that you matter…You…matter! I encourage you to do your best to be here every Sunday.
