Festival of Sharing Update
As individuals, we should take an opportunity to see and hear what God’s desire is for our world. How can our hearts be changed to show the love of Christ? How can we work alongside each other to uplift our communities? It may not be an easy or comfortable journey, but it will be worth it.
The Festival of Sharing mission is to respond to hunger, poverty, and injustice, so plans for the 2020 Sharefests in September and October are moving forward. The extraordinary conditions of 2020 have increased the need for basic necessity items. With considerations for the health and safety of volunteers and agencies, the main focus will be drive-through collection and distribution systems. Other activities, like packing projects and worship may not happen as usual, but please check with individual Sharefest locations for more specific details and directions.
Ways to Connect to a Sharefest from home:
- Pray for our neighbors in need and for our cooperative efforts to serve.
- Watch the Festival of Sharing webinar: vimeo.com/408864772
- Pick a kit from our booklet. Collect the items. Pack the kits in the proper packaging, and drop them off at a Sharefest drive-through.
- Contact Festival of Sharing to get a list of agencies in your area. Then you can reach out to see how your gifts can be used locally.
- Collect Best Choice labels, garden seeds, or eyeglasses and mail them to our office.
- Plan special offerings and fundraisers to help Festival of Sharing with administrative costs through the Where Needed Most fund. Checks can be made out to Missouri Annual Conference (MOAC) and sent to 3601 Amron Ct, Columbia, MO 65202.
