Medicine heals the body; music heals the soul

The Praise Group is gearing up to learn some new music in February and to start recording again. We have taken a must needed rest thru the month of January, but it is time to get started again. We hope you enjoy music during the online services in February.

The in-person service has maintained the same format as before. It is prudent for us to maintain a safe distance while COVID infection rates are so high. I do hope to revive the choir sometime in the future, but the format will be different. I will keep you posted as those decisions are made.

I have been fielding a lot of questions on why we are not using the large Allen Organ that Maxine played. The answer is that it needs repairs and will cost upwards of $15,000. The computer system in it is failing, and it is next to impossible to find parts for it because of its age. Everything now is digital, so our next option would be to replace the organ. A good used one would be around $34,000, which is also not a viable option right now. Instead, I made the decision and secured Glen’s help to hook up the Allen Organ’s speakers to our keyboard that was being under-used. We now get the big organ sound for our in-person worship from an instrument that doesn’t need repair. I hope this helps to answer questions regarding the organ. It is not feasible to fix the old, outdated organ nor to buy a new one. After the Annual Conference, I will address the organ situation with the new pastor.

Ted is doing great and getting stronger. He and I have started discussing our play book and hope to have Mosher Bay starting back soon.
