Pastor’s Note

Most of you have already heard that I have agreed to stay on as Pastor of St. Andrew’s UMC for another year. This was a hard decision for myself as well as my family, but we felt the good Lord was guiding us in this decision. I also know that he will be there to help us in everything we face together as a church in the coming year. There will be periods of time during July and August when I will not be bringing the message on Sunday mornings but will be available during the week. We have made plans as a family, and I have some previous commitments that I feel I must honor. I will still be doing the online service with the help of Tara Richardson. I will also be writing pastoral reports, newsletter articles, be available by phone and in the office during most weeks. My absences on Sunday should only affect the months of July and August.

If there is a need for consultation that you don’t feel comfortable sharing because of our friendship, arrangements can be made to visit with another local United Methodist pastor. The District Superintendent and I discussed this due to my long-tenure as a member of the church, and she has assured me this can be worked out.

The cabinet is having a difficult time filling positions across the state, and I’m sure St. Andrew’s is not the only charge that is in this position. I do feel honored that the Pastor Parish Relations Committee feels I will be able to serve the needs of St. Andrew’s UMC in the coming year. I look forward to serving and leading you to a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and bringing new believers into the Kingdom of God.

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Steve
