We have a new student from the Rainbow Network. Here’s a little information about Yadriela de la Cruz Torrez Hernandez.

My name is Yadriela and I am from Las Parcelas. I live with my mom, my dad, and my two siblings. My dad has seasonal work in agriculture, earning $60 per month. Our community has a Rainbow Network housing project. We have electricity in some houses but no potable water. We have green pastures, a river, and a church.

I travel 1 km to school with dreams of becoming a teacher. Education is important because it helps us get ahead and help others. My family cannot afford to continue paying for my schooling, so I am grateful for my scholarship.
