Updating the parsonage
Thanks to the work of Scott Graves, both bathrooms are now updated. Paul Bradford has also been at work, and the electrical box has been replaced, along with the air conditioning unit wired into the box. Paul installed the new light fixture in the dining area, checked all the smoke detectors, replaced the filter on the furnace, and installed GFI outlets in the kitchen.
The projects that are scheduled but not yet complete include:
- The gutters are to be cleaned on June 13 by Sunlight Cleaning.
- The deck will have boards replaced on areas needing it and shoring up the posts that have settled and washed out under the deck. Power washing and staining will be done on bid from Scott Graves. This should be completed this summer.
- Gable siding repair is planned to be done on bid of Scott Graves also.
Desired Parsonage Updates:
- The fireplace doors are broken and updating that area is needed.
- The kitchen design is vintage! It still shows signs of 1967, when the parsonage was completed. The kitchen could use some updating as well.
Recent Church Improvements
- A photocell was installed on the front porch to discourage those desiring to sleep in that area.
- The lights over the piano and the organ area were replaced.
- The chairlift is functioning and the wall there repaired.
- The magazine rack was hung by Stan Fauth. He also did the repairing of the wall along the chairlift.
- Robert Nichols has completed numerous projects in the hallway.
- Jim Foster is our gardener and keeps the outside updated and tidy.
- The carpet to tile transition has been repaired in the nursery.
- Eric Thompson is cutting the church and parsonage lawns.
- Thanks to Edgar Huffman for restriping the parking lot.
Other repairs needed at the church
- The windows on the front and back of the building that are not protected by awnings need to be painted.
- The porch poles need painting.
- The wooden frame around the air conditioning unit needs to be replaced.
- Windows need washing.
- Carpets need cleaned.
After reading this list, you might inclined to volunteer to help the Trustees complete the projects at the church or the parsonage. The Trustees appreciate monetary donations received for the parsonage updates and hope that they continue to completion of the projects needed. Giving of time and talents is also appreciated.
