Oh, how fast things can change! As most of you have heard, my life changed forever on September 1st. I suffered a stroke that affected the sight in my right eye.
At first, I had no sight in my eye and was told there was a good chance I would not regain any in the future. During the first night in the hospital, I started to see a little and it has gotten better. Although I don’t expect to see as well as I once did, I am hoping and praying it will get even better over time.
I have realized I am blessed because I can walk, talk, and think clearly. I thank God multiple times every day for these gifts. I have come to realize as well that God is in complete control and can change our lives in an instant.
I don’t think this has happened to me because of something I did or didn’t do. I thank God for all the blessings that have been bestowed on me and give credit to God for the life I have everyday.
I will continue to serve the people of St. Andrew’s UMC to the best of my ability and want to make sure everyone feels free to call on me as needed. The one thing that has stood out to me through all of this is that God is in control, he truly wants the best for us, and God is good all the time.
I want to thank everyone for the cards, calls, offers to help, time of conversation and concern, but most of all your prayers. It is because of your love and support I make it through the rough days and cherish the good days.
In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Steve
