The short effort to raise funds for Brendan’s Friday Backpacks in March raised $542! We’re continuing to keep the focus on students in April, but we’re focusing on some older students this time.

During April, we’ll be collecting funds to pay off past-due lunch bills for some of DeSoto’s seniors. If seniors at the high school have outstanding balances that they cannot pay off, their ability to participate in activities at school is restricted. For example, seniors who have balances aren’t able to walk during graduation and cannot receive their diploma. There are three students (2 boys and 1 girl) that we’ve committed to helping. The total needed to cover their outstanding balances is just $277.60. You can designate a portion of your offering to cover their outstanding balances by noting “Sr Lunch” on the memo line of your check or noting it on your giving envelope.
