With a thankful heart

To the members of Saint Andrew’s UMC:

As most of you have heard, it has been a rough period of time for me since I retired. We had to cancel or modify all of our vacation plans for the summer. I suffered a detached retina in the beginning of July. At first, they thought it was not going to require surgery, but after 2 weeks it was determined it had to be done and done immediately. The surgery went well and I am recovering. I want to thank all of you for the cards and prayers.

More importantly, I wanted to thank you for the love and support I received from you during my time as your pastor. You will never know what it meant to me to finish my ministry at the church that sent me into ministry years ago. I hope I said or did something during this time to help you grow in your faith, discipleship, and relationship with our Lord. I know I grew in my relationship with my Lord and Savior during my time with you. I also hope you have come to know the Lord and understand his love for you, so that you can pass that love on to others in the World. That is the only way we change the world in which we live.

In Christ’s Love,
Pastor Steve
