Tornado Disaster Relief

Pastor Chris and Dana have received several questions about how St. Andrew’s members can help with relief for those who suffered property damage and loss in May’s tornado in St. Louis.  They’ve done some research and have the following suggestions:

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is always an excellent choice for giving to trouble situations around the world.  You can give any time at https://gbhem-umc.my.site.com/hemgm/s/campaign/a3fPo000000D49r/umcor-us-disaster-response-and-recovery. However, please note that there is no way to designate your gift toward the disaster in  St. Louis.  Even articles from UMCOR admit, “We are spread too thin.”

For a more targeted gift, you may wish to give directly through our Missouri Annual Conference.  These gifts may be given through https://donorbox.org/disaster-response.  There is a comment field to

designate the ST. Louis tornado.  Please be sure to indicate that you are from St. Andrew’s , De Soto!
