And we have had so few opportunities to connect.
Not sure where someone’s child is going to school? Have no idea how the transition is going after a move? Want an update on how a friend is doing after the loss of a spouse? We’ve all missed connecting and checking in on one another, so it is time to dig deep and share a little. Let’s do something a little different: let’s all write Christmas letters. It will give you a chance to provide updates with those you haven’t seen lately and also let you learn a little about others in the church who have been missed during the pandemic. Here’s what you can do.
The church is going to share your Christmas letters. If you’ll get a copy of your letter to church before December 15, 2021, we’ll work to compile the letters and share them via email the week of December 20th. We’ll also post printed copies on the bulletin board in the hallway.
Submitting your letter is easy.
- The simplest option is to email the letter to secretary@standrewsumcdesoto.org. Please limit attached photos to 3 files and include the words “Christmas Letter to share” in the subject line.
- You can also bring a copy of your letter by the office and leave it at the church. Please put the letter in an envelope and again, include the words “Christmas Letter to share” on the front.
- And if you have great faith, you can entrust your Christmas letter to the postal service and mail it. On the letter or on the back of the envelope, please make it clear that the letter is one you would like shared by including the words “Christmas Letter to share”.
We do not want to share letters that were only intended for church staff, so making certain that the letter is one you don’t mind sharing with the congregation is very important. We also value your privacy, so the letters will not be posted on our website. However, accessing the letters will be done through our website. Further directions will be provided once the letters are assembled.
Remember, the deadline is December 15. That gives us time to compile the list and get everything put together.
