Dear Night to Shine Guests and Caretakers,
We hope you are doing well and are having an amazing new year. We are so excited for the 2021 Night to Shine Virtual Experience and hope that you will join us on Friday, February 12, 2021 for this amazing event! We wanted to send some information your way to help guide you through what to expect and some ways you can add to the experience. We know this year will look a little bit different but are still excited to celebrate you! As you anticipate this special night, here are some details that we hope will help you feel at ease and ready to have a great time!
Before Night to Shine—
Register for Night to Shine
Even though Night to Shine will not be in person this year, we still ask that you register. We want to be sure to have a gift for you and your contact information so we can send you updates and important details about the event. To register for Night to Shine through St. Andrew’s UMC, please click HERE! After your registration paperwork is received, a volunteer will follow-up with you about delivery options for your gift, along with a few technology questions for the night of the event.
Pick out what you’re going to wear
We encourage you to pick out a dress, tux, or any other outfit that makes you feel amazing! Even though you will be celebrating Night to Shine at home, we encourage you to still dress up for your special night.
In fact, if you’re uncertain about what to wear, you might consider wearing the splendid Night to Shine t-shirt that will be part of your gift package. (You need to submit your registration forms by January 29, 2021 to ensure we can get your shirt ordered.)
Decorate
To make the event feel more festive, consider decorating the room where you will watch the Night to Shine Virtual Experience. Hang streamers and balloons or string up some twinkle lights.
Decide on dinner
Consider cooking your favorite meal at home or order takeout from your favorite restaurant—be sure to plan ahead so that you have a delicious meal or snacks ready to go.
Be on the lookout for an e-mail from us with the link to the 2021 Night to Shine Virtual Experience. We will be emailing a link for you to click that will take you to a website with a pre-recorded Night to Shine video made especially for you. The video will include some surprise celebrity guests, singing, dancing, and of course, a crowning ceremony!!
Day of Night to Shine, February 12, 2021—
Get dressed up – put on that outfit you picked out and strut your stuff! We hope you’ll take pictures all through the night. Walk your own, private red carpet (any carpet will do or a hallway) at home. Get family members involved as your personal photographers!
Remember: don’t dance on an empty stomach! Eat dinner. Pull out the fancy china or festive partyware and make dinner or get take-out from your favorite restaurant.
The Night to Shine Virtual Experience will be between 30-60 minutes in length and can be started at any time after 6:00 p.m. (EST) on February 12. It’s not a live stream, so you don’t have to worry about missing a thing!
Get ready to dance, sing, and enjoy a special night from home created just for you—be sure to have your gifts on hand and your crown or tiara at the ready for the crowning moment!
After Night to Shine—
Please send us any pictures and videos that you took—we’d love to see you celebrating your Night to Shine!
We hope this provides you with a good overview of what the Night to Shine Virtual Experience will look like this year. Please know that we are available to you and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to celebrating you on February 12, 2021!
God bless,
St. Andrew’s UMC
